Cheating On the HCG Diet – What to Do Next

Cheating On HCG Diet

Even with the best intentions, you may still find yourself cheating on the HCG Diet. The question is what to do next to get yourself back on track with rapid weight loss. Some would say that cheating is human nature. Temptation is all around us and hard to resist – even when the results are keeping you motivated. Perhaps you had an office party, when out for Happy Hour after work with friends, had a special event, or family get-together. Whatever the reason you cheated is not as important as getting back to losing weight.

How you cheated is important to know when determining the best option. For example, if all you ate was a few bites of birthday cake, you can just go back to your daily HCG Diet meal plan. For someone who went overboard cheating on the HCG Diet, what to do may look a bit more extreme. There is something called the “Apple Day” where all you can have is 6 large apples and water throughout the day. This helps to reboot the body and get you ready to return to your regular Phase 2 HCG Diet protocol for quick and easy weight loss.

We are often asked about cheating on HCG Diet Phase 1. What does this mean? Because you must consume a minimum of 2000 calories of foods that are high in fat, it is difficult to find yourself cheating during this two-day phase. If anything, having less than the required 2000 calories called be called cheating, but, in essence, it is doing yourself a disservice as it could slow down your future weight loss. No matter how you look at it, cheating on HCG Diet injections is not recommended, but it does happen.

How Cheating on the HCG Diet Effects Results

What effect does cheating on HCG Diet Phase 2 have on your results? It will most likely slow down your weight loss and could lead to weight gain. The determining factor is how you cheated and with what. If you suddenly found yourself at an all-you-care-to-eat buffet with friends, you may discover that you reversed an entire week’s worth of weight loss. The “apple day” will get you back in your fat burning zone. If your cheating was based on too many calories of HCG approved foods, then you probably only gained a little bit of weight – if any at all. Instead, you may want to drop down from 800 calories to 700 calories the next day or eat only an apple for breakfast and lunch but then have an HCG Diet approved dinner. We always recommend speaking with your weight loss advisor here at Weight Loss Medical Center to help you get back on track.

It is also important to avoid cheating on HCG Diet Phase 3. This is when you are stabilizing your body at your new, lower weight, and the last thing you want is to gain back some of those pounds. The apple day does work well during Phase 3, but reverting back to only the allowable Phase 2 foods for a day or two may also help.

As far as cheating on HCG Diet with alcohol, this is never recommended. You will probably find yourself getting drunk after only one drink because of the lower caloric intake. Make sure you drink plenty of water to flush the alcohol out of your system.

How to Get Back on Track after Cheating on the HCG Diet

Getting back on track after cheating on the HCG Diet is not difficult. The one thing that you should never do is give up. You would be surprised how many people have gone on to lose all their excess fat after succumbing to a cheat day.

Some people may find themselves cheating on HCG Diet and still losing weight. This is not unheard of because, as we stated earlier, a few bites of cake is not the end of the world. The bigger the cheat, the more it will affect your results. If you used to consume 3000 calories a day, and your cheat day still leaves you well below that threshold, you may find that the scale continues to go down. Do not let this sway you to increase your caloric intake on a regular basis as you will eventually start to gain weight.

Cheating on an HCG Diet defeats the purpose of the rapid weight loss program. You are only “dieting” for six weeks at a time, so get yourself mentally ready for that before you commit to beginning the HCG Diet protocol. You may want to put this off if you have a big event or vacation coming up during that time so that you do not have the extra temptation.
