Now for the snail – traditional diets have you losing weight at a snail’s pace. You get frustrated because you never seem to get anywhere. Sure, you may lose a couple of pounds in the first week – typically all water weight – and then you have to settle for only a pound or two each week, with the potential for regaining and plateaus that lead to frustration and binge eating.

You seem to inch along getting nowhere fast – that is until you rev up your internal fat burning engine with the HCG Diet.

HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone present in pregnant women that allows them to burn stored body fat for fuel in the early stages of pregnancy when nausea reduces the amount of food they consume. In actuality, everyone has a little HCG in his or her cells.

What HCG does for a person on a very low-calorie diet is provide a signal to the brain that the body is not starving. This allows for the burning of stored fat rather than lean muscle tissue. One of the biggest problems with very low-calorie diets that do not use HCG is that the body is thrown into a starvation mode and looks to hold onto that stored fat, instead pulling fuel from the muscles.

Finally, with the HCG Diet, you reprogram your brain and your body to view food differently. You cut cravings and replace them with healthier alternatives. You learn how to shop for and prepare tasty meals with little preparation or time.

What is HCG Phase 1 going to do?

Here are the 4 HCG phases explained in detail:

During the two days of this phase, you will begin taking your HCG injections; however, you will not be dieting.

Instead, you will be focusing on saturating your bloodstream with ready to use fat. To accomplish this, you will consume a minimum of 2,000 calories of food with a high-fat content. Stay away from candy bars as these are mostly sugar. Some recommended food options include:

  • Burgers
  • Loaded potato skins
  • Pizza
  • BBQ ribs
  • Ice cream sundaes
  • Pancakes and bacon
  • Pasta

Do not skip this step. Your body needs this ready supply of fat to start the fat burning process on day 3. You will see reduced results if you do not consume at least 2,000 calories of high-fat foods during Phase 1.

If 2,000 calories a day is normal for you, then up your consumption to 3,000 calories. You need to take in 50% more calories a day than normal.

This is the actual fat burning part of the HCG Diet. You will now cut back to no more than 700 – 800 calories a day divided into three meals. You can have an apple for a snack during the day if you get hungry.

Phase 2 of the HCG Diet includes meal plans and recipes to make weight loss easy. If you prepare the recipes we provide, you will see incredible results.

Your HCG Diet food list will be your shopping guide. It will show you what you are allowed to eat. If it is not on the list – do not eat it.

Depending on how much total weight you have to lose, you will stay on Phase 2 for either 3, 4, or 6 weeks before moving on to Phase 3.

If at the end of 6 weeks you still have more weight to lose, you will stay on Phase 3 for a few weeks before repeating Phases 1 and 2 for additional weight loss.

Phase 3 is the maintenance phase. Except for sugar and carbohydrates, most foods forbidden during Phase 2 will be gradually reintroduced. You will also start to increase your caloric intake.

Once you have reached your desired weight, you will leave Phase 3 and move on to the final stage of the HCG Diet. This is when you can eat whatever you want and maintain your new, trimmer body for life.
