1000 Calorie HCG Diet

1000 Calorie HCG Diet: How Does It Work? ‎

If you conduct any type of internet search for rapid weight loss, the chances are high that you will come across the HCG Diet. However, the excessive amount of information available online is not always legitimate, especially about HCG weight loss. Today, we want to discuss one of the latest “changes” to the HCG protocol – the 1000 calorie HCG Diet. Here at Weight Loss Medical Center, we do not endorse this protocol. It is not part of the original HCG Diet that works so well for so many people. You may find websites instructing you on guidelines for an 800 calorie, 1000 calorie, and 1200 calorie HCG Diet. The most common of which is the 1000 calorie HCG diet plan. Proponents of that protocol site the additional calories as being beneficial for people who want to engage in exercise while on the program. Those of you familiar with the traditional HCG Diet protocol know that the only forms of exercise allowed are walking, yoga, swimming, and stretching. While it is true that the 500 to 700 calories allowed on the standard HCG Diet do not support increased exercise, neither do 800 or 1000 calories. Here is why you should not take HCG on 1000 calorie diet:
  • The purpose of the HCG is not to facilitate weight loss, but rather keep your body from feeling hungry. If you are consuming 1000 calories a day, you should not be hungry. The HCG will not affect your weight.
  • The original 500 to 700 calorie protocol of the HCG Diet is meant to help you overcome food cravings and change how you eat. Higher caloric intake with increased food options will inhibit those benefits.
  • People who consume 1000 calories on the HCG Diet do not lose weight as quickly as with the lower caloric intake. That often leads to frustration, cheating, and weight gain.
  • It takes considerably longer to reach the target weight loss goal, necessitating increased usage of HCG. The purpose of the HCG Diet is to help you reach your goal as soon as possible, keeping you motivated to stick with the program.
1000 calories per day are NOT part of the original HCG Diet protocol.

When Can You Have 1000 Calories on the HCG Diet? ‎

During Phase 3 of your protocol, the 1000 calorie HCG Diet allows you to add more foods into your daily meals. At this time, you will be in a stabilization phase. Please know that you are only restricted to 500 to 700 calories for a maximum of six weeks. After that, you will increase your daily caloric intake to 1000 and then 1200 calories per day.If you have reached your target weight at the end of Phase 2 – the injection and weight loss period – you will move on to the Phase 3 1000 calorie HCG Diet followed by an increase to 1200 calories. After a few weeks here, you can then enter Phase 4 – maintenance – where you can eat whatever you want. Remember this – use common sense so that you do not gain back your lost weight. The HCG Diet protocol teaches you how to eat and how to prepare healthy meals. If you go back to your old lifestyle, your efforts will have been in vain. For those who have not reached their goal, after Phase 3 you can then go back and repeat Phase 2 for further weight loss.
You can begin to consume 1000 calories per day on Phase 3 of the HCG Diet.

Can You Lose Weight on the 1000 Calorie HCG Diet? ‎

People often ask us if you can lose weight using HCG with 1000 calorie diet plan. If you are used to consuming 2000 calories each day, then yes, you will lose weight by dropping your caloric intake in half. Any decrease in the amount of food you usually eat will result in weight loss. The difference will be in how fast you lose those pounds. On the 1000 calorie HCG Diet, many people see only a gradual decline in weight – often not enough to keep them motivated. Many dieters are used to eating only 1200 to 1400 calories a day, which is not much of a change. Their bodies will hardly register the difference. On the HCG 1000 calorie a day diet, many people use HCG drops rather than injections. The HCG drops do not contain real HCG. Yes, they may be a homeopathic product that started with real HCG, but after the layers of dilution, you are left with nothing more than some form of iodized water. Other HCG drops may contain a variety of amino acids. In either situation, you are not providing your body with real HCG that helps regulate hormone production and neuronal signals in the brain. It is the hypothalamus that ultimately controls whether you are hungry.
You will not lose weight as quickly if you consume 1000 calories per day on the
HCG Diet.
